      What Vienna has to offer?

      Baroque, Baroque, Baroque!

Hop on your flight from Nantes Atlantique and waltz your way into Vienna! The capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire sets the tempo for the entire country. Exuberantly baroque, a touch old-fashioned, downright theatrical… Vienna continues to embrace its rich past which forms an integral part of the city’s present. Concentrated in the Ring, a vast circular boulevard built in place of the old city walls, the heart of the old town is dominated by the Hofburg, once the winter residence of Franz Joseph and his royal wife Sissi.

A rich past linked to the present

Around the castle, aristocrats built lavish palaces, creating an elegant neighbourhood filled with beautiful architecture. Inside this stunning neighbourhood, you can also find St. Stephen’s Cathedral. With its glazed tiled roof arranged into geometric patterns, this masterpiece will certainly leave you blown away!

      Great Composers

Beethoven, Brahms, the Strauss family, Mozart, Schubert, and many other famous composers are buried in the musicians’ section of Vienna’s Central Cemetery. Whilst their coffins may be closed, this unusual museum is open to the public.

      The Austrian Versailles

Of course, you can’t leave the capital without visiting the Schönbrunn Palace (often called the Austrian Versailles), the Prater Ferris wheel, strolling along the banks of the Danube, and above all, enjoying a slice of Sachertorte, the local chocolate cake!
